+ ‘A Single Man’ by Tom Ford +

        Ok, admitámoslo: tiendo a hacer juicios anticipados. Sí, me hallo en el deber de confesar que, en lo que a ciertos temas se refiere, de entrada suelo mostrarme algo recelosa. En los días más generosos suelo conceder algún que otro voto de confianza que, en ocasiones, gratamente me hace ver cuán equivocada estoy. Y otras veces, pues no.

         Hace unos días me enteré por el blog de Jo (es probable que me haya enterado antes pero que, debido a los juicios anteriormente mencionados, no registrara la información cuando tocaba) de que Tom Ford ha dirigido una película que lleva por nombre A Single Man. Y claro, ahora que las pretensiones de artista integral parecen haberse convertido en el nuevo must-have, este tipo de noticias me suelen resultar algo tediosas. Pero (!) vi el tráiler; y he aquí la retractación de mi juicio erróneo: está basada en la novela homónima de Christopher Isherwood y parece haber tenido muy buena acogida en la última Biennale di Venezia; también es cierto que el asunto gana puntos si, además, Colin Firth y Julianne Moore están por ahí en medio.

        Ok, let’s face it: I tend to judge in advance. Yes, I feel obliged to confess that, regarding to some specific topics, I normally act a little distrustfully, I would say. There are some days, in which I feel kind of generous and then give some vote of confidence that, sometimes, kindly shows me how wrong I was. Other times, it just doesn’t happen.

    Some days ago, I discovered thanks to Jo’s blog (probably I heard it somewhere before but, due to the previously mentioned jugdements, it is possible I did not register the information properly when I should), that Tom Ford had directed a film called A Single Man. You know, now that integral-artist pretentions seem to have become the ultimate must-have, this kind of news just seem quite tedious to me. But (!) I saw the trailer; and here it is the retraction to my wrong judgement: it is based in Christopher Isherwood’s homonym novel and it seems to have had a great success in the latest Biennale di Venezia edition; it is also true that having Colin Firth and Julianne Moore might significantly help.
