Cinema Photographique took place last Saturday 25th July in Club Planetarium in Vienna, within Roomservice #8 where there was shown a selection of the Viennes photographer Michael Dürr’s latest work. If you weren’t lucky enough either as to be there here you have some pictures of what the night was.

Y esto no es otra cosa que el último desvarío de Peaches, una exaltación mayúscula del cutrelux homemade, del amor plural y del brillo ochentero más auténtico, lleno de luz y de color, cortesía del fenómeno más shinny disco ball.

I discovered Lose You almost by chance in China MTV when, against all expectations, they stopped the barrage of mandarin Britneys that showed on & on & on to slip this. And this is no other thing than the latest Peaches‘ delirium, an utter exaltation of the homemade cheesy deluxe, of the plural love and of the most authentic 80’s sparkling, full of light and colour, courtesy of the shinny disco ball phenomenon.

Con un rollo sport, fresco y como de edgy easy-going, Bossini Pithod presenta su nueva colección; una vuelta de tuerca al panorama camisetero masculino. Las principales influencias de su creador parten de la obra del artista bonaerense Tomás Maldonado y del proceso, aparentemente simple, de la refracción de la luz en un cristal.
Agustín se deja influir por su formación artística y proyecta una colección ponible y efectiva, basada en una serie de prendas únicas, con diferentes juegos de color y simetría, ideadas como diferentes propuestas artísticas independientes entre sí.

With a sporty, fresh and almost edgy easy-going vibe, Bossini Pithod presents his new collection; a new twist to the menswear T-shirt scene. The main references quoted by its creator include Tomás Maldonado’s (an artist from Buenos Aires) work and the, apparently simply, process of light refraction through a glass.
Agustín lets his artistic background influence himself too, and he proposes a wearable and efective collection based in a series of unique garments, with different works in colour and symmetry, conceived as different artistic proposal, all of them independent from the others.

Todo sigue tal y como estaba hace unos meses: con sus luces de neón y sus edificios abarrotados, con sus conductores kamikaze y con la gente reunida en las calles viendo un televisor común…
El tiempo se para en China. Progreso y avance no siempre están presentes aquí. La verdadera China va a otro ritmo.
Aquí os dejo un breve recorrido virtual por Shenzen, ciudad al sur de China, que estos días se encuentra en las noticias por estar padeciendo los efectos del ciclón Molave, el sexto y más virulento de este año al que debo agradecerle la consideración de esperar a que me fuera para entrar en escena.

Everything stays the same as it was some months ago: with all its neon lights and its barred buildings, with its kamikaze drivers and with people gathering together at night in the streets to see a common TV…
Time stops in China. Progress and advance are not always present in here. Real China moves at a different speed.
Here I leave you a brief virtual walk through Shenzen, a city located in South China, that these days is in the news for suffering the effects of typhoon Molave, the sixth and strongest one this year, though I really appreciate it was kind enough to let me go just before coming on stage.

Qué genial es volver y descubrir que hay montones de cosas nuevas por ahí para ver como, por ejemplo, la doble exposición de Iguapop Gallery en la que Tara McPherson y Pepa Prieto presentan sus propios y particulares imaginarios.
Silent Heroes es el nombre con el que la artista california presenta su propuesta, seductora y femenina, poblada de personajes icónicos y simbolistas con una inocencia de doble fondo. Way too Far, Way too Near es, por otro lado, el título que engloba el trabajo de la artista granadina, cargado de color y sugestión, entre lo naïf y lo onírico, con el toque justo de folk.
Puedes verlas en Iguapop Gallery (C/Comerç, 15 Bcn), hasta el 12 de Septiembre.

How nice it is to come back and discover there are lots of many interesting things going on like, for instance, the current double exhibition at Iguapop Gallery where Tara McPherson and Pepa Prieto present their own and personal imagery.
Silent Heroes is the name used by the californian artist to present her proposal, seductive and femenine, populated with iconic and symbolic characters with a false bottom inocence. Way too Far, Way too Near is, on the other hand, the name that compiles this granadian artist work, full of colour and suggestion, between naïve and oneiric, with the right hint of folk.
You can see them both in Iguapop Gallery (C/Comerç, 15 Bcn), till September 12th.

Siguiendo el principio freudiano que asegura que todo ser humano dirige sus esfuerzos a la consecución de sus pulsiones, instintos y deseos, Pleasure Principle (Adrian Cowen y Diva Pittala) decidieron, tras haberse conocido en Londres, irse juntos –sin saber que sería ya para quedarse- a visitar Nueva York.
Deconstrucción y reconstrucción, experimentación y concepto como bases de su proceso creativo. Para esta temporada; colores claros y pasteles, estratégicas aberturas en las prendas, estampados con spray y esa nueva vuelta de tuerca al básico entre básicos que es la camiseta.

Following that Freudian principle that states that every human being leads its efforts in order to satisfy its pulsions, instincts and desires, Pleasure Principle (Adrian Cowen and Diva Pittala) decided, after meeting each other in London -and without knowing yet they’ll stay there to live- to go and visit New York.
Deconstruction and reconstruction, experimenting and playing with the concept are their creative basis. For this season is all about light and pale shades, strategically placed openings in the garments, sprayed-effect printings and a new twist to that basic, among all the basics, that is the T-shirt.
