Just found this totally by chance diving into my supercoolstuff folder and Blue Monday is what came instantly to my mind. Yes, I know it still is Sunday night but I hate Mondays so much that, due to a wild and incomprehensible self-destructive behaviour, I tend to bring them forward.

Ésta es la canción preferida de Mando Diao del Hombre Perfecto. Yo creo que sigo prefiriendo Gloria, por las razones anteriormente expuestas aquí, pero de todas formas, estoy segura de que el martes 1 de diciembre, acabaremos bailándolas todas en Razzmatazz cuando los chicos del norte estén por aquí tocando en directo (!).

This is the Perfect Man’s favourite Mando Diao song. I think I still prefer Gloria for the reasons previously exposed in here but, anyway, I’m sure we’ll both dance all of them next Tuesday 1st December when the Northern boys will be playing live in Razzmatazz (!).

Las obras de más de veinte artistas contemporáneos componen la exposición STAGES que se puede ver estos días, y hasta el 21 de Noviembre, en la galería Deitch Projects de NYC. La exhibición global e itinerante, que antes había pasado por París y que en diciembre se trasladará a la Art Basel de Miami, es una iniciativa de Nike y Lance Armstrong que pretende recaudar fondos -destinando directamente los beneficios- para la fundación Livestrong.

More than twenty contemporary artist’s work can be found at the exhibition STAGES that can be seen these days, and till 21st November, in Deitch Projects gallery in NYC. The global and travelling exhibition, that had previously been shown at Paris and will be moved in early December to Art Basel in Miami, is an initiative promoted by Nike and Lance Armstrong with the intention of raising funds for the Livestrong foundation.

Therese Rawsthorne lleva ya tres años al frente de su marca homónima y en su última propuesta toma la imagen del circo de principios de siglo como referencia directa para una colección femenina y nostálgica, a medio camino entre el trapecio de la pista central y el chic más hipster.
Leggings con aplicaciones de lentejuelas o pedrería, superposiciones de tejidos en tonos empolvados y estructuradas blazers, de dimensiones reducidas, que se combinan con aplicaciones de volantes en rosa palo, como de maestro de ceremonias delavado, dan fe de porqué Australia se perfila como uno de los panoramas emergentes más prometedores del momento. Estate al tanto.

Therese Rawsthorne has been for three years now at the head of her homonym label and her latest proposal takes the image of the circus from the beginning of the century as a clear reference for a femenine and nostalgic collection, halfway between the central stage tapreze and the hipstest chic.
Leggings with sequins or gems applications, fabric layering in dusty shades and accurately built small sized blazers that are combined with ruffle applications in pale pink, like a washed-out master of ceremonies testify why Australia is emerging as one of the most promising up-coming scenes at the moment. Stany tuned.

Realmente, hay semanas que duran más que otras, ¿verdad? Horas que duran bastante más de una hora y días que se alargan ad infinitum para que parezca que el viernes nunca llega. Y cuando al fin llega, claro, ya no se es persona.
Afortunadamente he encontrado la solución perfecta, es de aplicación totalmente indolora y el modo de empleo es de lo más sencillo: Tras pulsar Play, subir el volumen. Alto, alto, alto…

+ ‘A Single Man’ by Tom Ford +
Ok, admitámoslo: tiendo a hacer juicios anticipados. Sí, me hallo en el deber de confesar que, en lo que a ciertos temas se refiere, de entrada suelo mostrarme algo recelosa. En los días más generosos suelo conceder algún que otro voto de confianza que, en ocasiones, gratamente me hace ver cuán equivocada estoy. Y otras veces, pues no.
Hace unos días me enteré por el blog de Jo (es probable que me haya enterado antes pero que, debido a los juicios anteriormente mencionados, no registrara la información cuando tocaba) de que Tom Ford ha dirigido una película que lleva por nombre A Single Man. Y claro, ahora que las pretensiones de artista integral parecen haberse convertido en el nuevo must-have, este tipo de noticias me suelen resultar algo tediosas. Pero (!) vi el tráiler; y he aquí la retractación de mi juicio erróneo: está basada en la novela homónima de Christopher Isherwood y parece haber tenido muy buena acogida en la última Biennale di Venezia; también es cierto que el asunto gana puntos si, además, Colin Firth y Julianne Moore están por ahí en medio.
Ok, let’s face it: I tend to judge in advance. Yes, I feel obliged to confess that, regarding to some specific topics, I normally act a little distrustfully, I would say. There are some days, in which I feel kind of generous and then give some vote of confidence that, sometimes, kindly shows me how wrong I was. Other times, it just doesn’t happen.
Some days ago, I discovered thanks to Jo’s blog (probably I heard it somewhere before but, due to the previously mentioned jugdements, it is possible I did not register the information properly when I should), that Tom Ford had directed a film called A Single Man. You know, now that integral-artist pretentions seem to have become the ultimate must-have, this kind of news just seem quite tedious to me. But (!) I saw the trailer; and here it is the retraction to my wrong judgement: it is based in Christopher Isherwood’s homonym novel and it seems to have had a great success in the latest Biennale di Venezia edition; it is also true that having Colin Firth and Julianne Moore might significantly help.
